Metamorphosis (2011) for electric guitar and Max/MSP.
I am currently working on Metamorphosis (working title). It is a suite of short, character pieces composed for electric guitar and Max/MSP. My goal is to write six, short movements. Below are the improvisations that I used to begin composing these pieces. When I am starting a new piece I will often begin by improvising over and idea. For example, Rain, I wanted to imitate the sound of rain falling on a roof. The rain sound is produced by combining a muted technique on the guitar, with an echo produced by Max/MSP.
